I have seen this wildly decorated bike parked here several times before and today I decided I was going to make it my daily photo.  As I was walking around it, looking for the correct angle, Juliette walked out of her door.  I asked her if it was her bike, she said it was and that she was about to ride it over to Hood College.  Then she noticed that the gum ball machine on the back of the bike was empty and needed to be refilled.  As she was beginning to pedal away I asked her why she decorated her bike and her response was perfect, “Why not.  It brings joy.”

Juliette mentioned that I had photographed her twice before.  One of those postings can be seen here.  I also photographed her front door just a few weeks ago.  You can see that photo here.

This is still a small town full of serendipity and surprise and chance…
