I cannot imagine how many residents of Frederick have put their hand on this door handle and pushed.  I vividly remember walking the fourteen blocks from my house to this store as a very young teenager, almost always with Lamb Chop, and often at this time of the year.

If you look closely you will see some flecks of red paint that are still holding on within the confines of the etched letters, particularly the first two.

  1. My first lunch counter meal was eaten there!

  2. Those were the good ole days. Thanks

  3. Went there many times with my Mom and Grandmother! Fond memories for sure.

  4. One of at least three “five & dime” stores in downtown in the 50’s. They had everything!
