This corner, and specifically this wall, reminds me of Christmas pretty much every time I walk past it.  When I was much, much younger there was a vendor who would sell Christmas trees here.  He would have trees leaning against the white wall at the left of this scene and also diagonally across the intersection against the red brick wall.  I guess his target market was folks who lived and worked downtown.

Take a look at that tree across Market Street near the red brick wall.  I shot it just a few weeks ago when it still had a few leaves.  You can see that photo here.

  1. sweet memories ~ my grandfather had Cappello’s , the store out of frame to the right, i remember the Christmas tree man, Juggy, he was there making wreaths and selling trees everyyear into the 70’s…..Happy Holidays !

  2. Our family got our tree there for years! Great memories.

  3. Wow, I recall that vendor, and I think we got a tree or two there as well. Rose, so great to hear from you! I was sent to the corner more than once for milk or eggs; but the prize of prizes was a macaroon. Merry Christmas to your family.
