Earlier this evening I was photographing these trees with their beautiful pink blossoms, but the sidewalk was empty.  The photos were good but not compelling.  Then Ridge and Brook walked into the scene followed by Gail and Laurie and, at least for me, that made the photo.

Ridge and Brook are Gordon Setters (I had to ask).  A quick bit of research shows that the breed originated in the British Isles and these two had a long, thick, soft coat to protect them from the wind and mist that their ancestors endured.  And that is pretty much what this evening’s weather felt like in the Historic District, breezy and cool with a light misty rain.
