This is a new outdoor seating area in the Historic District and a bit different from most of the others as it uses fixed fencing to define the space.  When I first saw it a few days ago I knew I would have to photograph it sooner or later.

Then, driving up Market today I noted the white bike, then the yellow umbrellas, then my friends Kayte and Joe enjoying lunch outside and I knew this would be today’s post.  Nellie is actually in the photo too, but she is difficult to see curled up behind Joe’s feet.

For the photo geeks:  Finding a natural place to crop the camera left edge of this photo was difficult for me.  I wanted to include the full bike but that brought the red framed window into the photo which is not ideal.  If I cropped the left edge just where the yellow wall and awning stopped I would only have half of the bike and that looked a bit odd.  And if I cropped out the entire bike I would also lose a good bit of the left hand umbrella.  In the end the crop shown was, to me, the best option.

  1. Love all this outside seating for our local restaurants. Wish there were even more!
