Nelson from DPW had great weather to string the holiday lights high above Patrick Street this morning.  It is amazing how much work this takes but I bet he and the rest of the crews feel a bit of pride when they drive down Market or Patrick at night when all of those glorious lights are on.

For the photo geeks:  Something about this photo bothers me.  I would have liked to have seen a clean separation between Nelson’s bucket and the top of the building behind him but I was darn near standing in traffic already and one or two more steps forward would not have ended well.  Sometimes you take what you get…

  1. OMG, 75 degrees and a nice October day and holiday lights going up. Yikes!

  2. The first Christmas I lived in Frederick will be always be unforgettable to me for those lovely lights! I look forward to them every year!
