I do like shooting doors.  Single doors are great, as are matching doors of sister houses.  I am also fond of house doors and matching alley doors like this charming set.  Look closely at the detail work in the arches above each door.  Nice.

I think I have said this before, but just in case I haven’t…   Doors do a lot more than just provide a space to hang a wreath.  They are the threshold we cross between our public lives and our private lives.  They separate what we want people to see and that which we keep closer to our heart.  Inside and outside.  A prim and proper facade and the more comfortable space we actually live in.  A coat and tie or a t-shirt and sweat pants.  Without doors the outsides would leak in and our insides would leak out.  Doors are way more than a slab of wood or steel, they help define how we live and maybe how we stay sane in this world.

And that is my two cents worth of pop sociology…
