I was out shooting today at noon and found the light mostly flat.  That is not always a bad thing if you choose an appropriate subject.

If the sun had been out today the nice orderly curlicues shown here might have been confused by harsh shadowing.  With the flat light the iron work stands out nicely accented by the bits of greenery poking through the fence.

I did shoot this scene in both directions and chose this view due to the nice accents that help define the shapes of the fence supports.
