In just a very few days I will be doing the same thing Doug is doing here, sawing off the bottom few branches of the family Christmas tree to fit in the tree stand.  Except I will be using a hand saw, not a chain saw.  And I will be cutting off two or three branches, not a dozen or so.  And my tree will be seven or eight feet tall at most, not five times that height (heck, most of the branches Doug cut off were longer than my tree will be tall).

But some things really will be the same.  As the crane operator lowered the tree into the stand Doug’s co-workers were telling him which way to turn it to get the good side facing down Market Street.  Sound familiar?
