One of my photo gigs today had me working the Festival of the Arts along Carroll Creek so I figured I would have an easy time coming up with one photo for my daily post.

But what I settled on had little to do with the Festival of the Arts (which is a great event enjoying a fine weekend, you need to go tomorrow), instead I found this black-crowned night heron steadfastly ignoring the peanut gallery as he gazed into Carroll Creek.  He hung out like this for a very long time as the crowds changed constantly, ooh-ing and aah-ing the whole while.  Nothing seemed to ruffle this guy’s feathers.

  1. Another great photo Bill. We were down there early today and it was absolutely beautiful.

  2. Great subject. You should have been there when the heron caught and ate a fish!
