The Talley Center at the corner of Bentz and 2nd was originally built as the armory for the Maryland National Guard in Frederick.  And if you step back and take a look you can see that the building does have elements that make it look a bit like a fort or castle.  How many other buildings in the Historic District are designed with crenellations and arrow slits?
