All kinds of things are going on in the Historic District today:  First Saturday, Cinco de Mayo and Prom night.  And rain.

Heading downtown I passed these two guys sheltering from that rain under the overhang of this old railroad depot building.  I continued into the heart of the Historic District and even with the rain there were plenty of people walking the streets, shopping and visiting restaurants.

It would have been easy to make a photo there but I couldn’t get these guys out of my head.  So I turned around and headed back to the corner of East and 4th and found Lee and Jerry still waiting out the rain.  And I am glad I did.  The arrangement of the physical objects (doors, windows and bikes) is darn near perfect and the green sign balances out the green strip of grass.  And, for me, the best part is how Lee and Jerry remained relaxed and interactive as I shot eleven frames.

  1. I love this photo Bill. As many times as I’ve passed this site you really made it stand out for me and let me see a “new“ part of Frederick. Thank you.
