Darkness is arriving earlier and earlier each day and I have not adjusted to the schedule change.  So late this afternoon I had to pull out the big tripod to get this photo.

There was a bit of a breeze blowing through the Historic District keeping these flags in motion and most folks walking about were bundled up in deference to the weather.  But to me it did feel like the perfect blustery autumn evening.

As an aside:  I am not a vexillologist by any stretch of the imagination, but I do find the Maryland state flag incredibly interesting.  It is almost always recognizable whether at a distance or when it is blurred as in this photo.  A very nice bit of design, at least to my eye.
